Sahara Group is recruiting graduates for its Graduate Management Talent Programme 2012.


Job Title: Graduate Management Talent Programme

Location: Lagos

Role Statement:

In the 6 months of the "Management Talent" programme, you will work on a number of different projects within a few of the operating companies of the Sahara Group. The work is generally highly analytical and dynamic; with many of the projects carried out in teams. Each individual will receive both coaching and supervision along the course of the programme, this way, you get to know not only the Sahara Group and our core fields of activity and people, but also yourself.

After the 6 month programme, if you are successful, you will begin your first position, for example, a Business Development Officer, within Product Supply and Distribution or in an analytical position such as within the Corporate Development and Strategy team. The possibilities are limitless!!! A project or position overseas is also a possibility.

The goal of this "Management Talent" programme is to train you as a high-value individual in an international Energy environment. A management position is possible in time, depending on the qualities you show. In other words, it's all in your hand

Throughout this 6 month programme, you will be supervised by a career officer from our Talent Management division.


Knowledge/Skills:

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Other than English, at least one foreign international language is required (French or Portuguese)
  • Ability to multi-task with regular interruptions

Additional Information


Minimum Qualification / Experience:

  • Relevant university degree (B.Sc/B.A) minimum 2nd class lower division
  • Completed NYSC
  • 0-2 years post-NYSC Experience
  • Maximum of 26 years by December 2012

Requirements

  • Experience analyzing and addressing issues that impede movement of commodities across borders.
  • Experience developing solutions to leverage corridors in terms of economic development
 
2.) Feed the Future Value Chain Director

Requirements

  • Experience addressing issues that affect the production and marketing of FTF commodities across the region.

3.) AGOA Director

Requirements

  • Experience promoting trade with the US under AGOA, and strategy for doing so.

4.) Director of Regional Partner Strengthening

Requirements

  • Experience providing capacity building, preferably in the region
  • Background in capacity development of both public and private sector actors

5.) Market Information Specialist

Requirements

  • Experience establishing a common platform for the collection, analysis, and dissemination of market information across the region, including price, volume, seasonality, grades and standards, location (where is it available)
 
6.) Outreach and Coordinator

Requirements

  • Experience managing relationships with partners across the region, both public and private.
  • Experience coordinating partner-specific and cross-network activities
 
7. Gender & Youth Integration Specialist

Requirements

Experience incorporating gender, youth, and disabled persons into all aspects of programming. Experience in West Africa with rural communities prefered.
 

General Requirements

All candidates must meet the following requirements:
  • Advanced degree and at least 7 years of experience in the relevant area of expertise
  • Experience working on USAID-funded programs
  • Demonstrated Management and communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to manage team of long- and short-term consultants
  • French and English fluency required
